Na 54. Festivalu dokumentarnog i kratkometražnog filma u Beogradu, marta 2007, za najbolji dokumentarni film u domaćoj konkurenciji nagrađen je režiser Zoran Đudurović za film "Gera" (scenario: Jovana Lazić). U filmu se pojavljuju Žika Popović, Srba Travanov, Uroš Đurić, Zoran Lazović, Dragan Papić, Ninoslav Ranđelović, Dea Lukić, Bebi Dol, Bora Gerzić i drugi.

Zoran Djudurovic saw the monograph of Dusan Gerzic Gera at the moment he was to submit his professor an idea for a documentary film exercise exam. Considering that the exercise was called documentary portrait, he decided to do a story about Gera. Otherwise, Djudurovic's colleague from dramaturgy, Jovana Lazic, who had shown him the monograph, was already doing research on Gera for her project.

- It was then we decided to work together on my documentary film. I was inspired by 

Gera's paintings in which I felt his talent and a very serious approach to painting. Until then I have never heard of Gera and the story therefore intrigued me even more. His paintings, his life and the people who knew him were interesting enough for my film, particularly because Gera had deceased several years ago.
